Veggie Packed Burger


 

Ingredients

1 ½ lbs. Ground Beef or Turkey

½ C Breadcrumbs

2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

1 Egg

½ C Grated Cheddar Cheese

1 tsp Salt

¼ tsp Pepper

2 Cloves Garlic

1 Small Red Onion

1 Red Pepper

6 Mushrooms

1 C Spinach Leaves

Hamburger Buns

Arugula

Olive Oil


Directions

In a large bowl combine ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, egg, grated cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper.

Mince garlic and finely chop onion, pepper, mushrooms and spinach leaves. Add to meat mixture. Using your hands, mix until well combined. Shape mixture into patties.

Preheat grill to medium-high heat and oil grates. Or if cooking on stove top, heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Brush cut sides of buns with olive oil and set aside. Grill burgers covered until nicely browned on both sides. Let patties rest on plate and grill buns (or place under broiler) for 1 minute. Place arugula on bottom of each bun and top with patty. (Optional toppings – avocado, purple cabbage, shredded cheese, tomato, onion)
